The last of the 3 part series took place under cloudy skies which can make for some dramatic lighting options. A slightly different location was chosen on a steep incline to catch the racers at a slower pace for improved percentages. A Canon 600EX-RT set to select individual flash units was used for more control. The flashes were set to manual and then to EV+/- because the racers were not consistent where they entered the “zone area.” If the shot was taken too early or late the effect on manually set flash intensity was quite variable. On camera flash was set to EV-1 and sometimes excluded from the mix. None of the flashes had modifier so output was optimized and hardness was effective.
