ArtSA Gala @ the Lila Cockrell Theater, San Antonio, TX – Beatle Booth Fun – All You Need Is Love

This year ArtSA had a “Beatles” themed gala and I was contracted to provide prints on site. ARTSA provided life size cutouts of the “Fab Four” and guests took their turn posing with on a faux stage.

The setup was lit with 2 Elinchrom 600RX shooting through Paul Buff umbrellas either side of the shooting position and another 600RX fitted with a Chimera XXS for a hair light – all triggered with Pocket Wizard Multimax radio units. The Canon 1Dx was fitted with a Canon WFT-e6a transmitter sending JPG files to a laptop connected to a DNP DS40 event printer putting out 4×6 prints. The laptop was also connected to a 40″ Insignia LCD TV on a C-stand. The monitor is extremely useful for the participants to view their pix as they are taken to make sure they get the shot they want before printing.

DNP DS40 printer:
The compact 600 dpi DS40 Digital Photo Printer from DNP combines high-speed printing with dye-sub technology to produce high-quality photos from 2 x 6″ up to 6 x 9″ in size. The printer can produce high-quality 4 x 6 photos in under 8 seconds. As your printing needs increase and one printer isn’t enough, you can quadruple your print speed by connecting 4 DS40 models. Once the printers are linked you can stack them to conserve space thanks to their flat-top design.

Ashley and John are getting married – 03.08.14

Ashley and John are getting married – 03.08.14 so we spent the late afternoon at the Ranch at San Patricio making pictures for their “Save the Date” wedding announcements and special keepsakes in preparation for the big day. We had a late start but we kept things moving to get some shots they will be able to enjoy for the rest of their lives. This is the fifth or sixth time at the ranch and every time we’ve been able to try something a little different.

This  picture was processed with a Lightroom plugin by AlienSkin, Exposure 5. This particular version was done using the “Infrared” preset and modified to enhance colors in their clothes. The deep green grass was rendered white.
